SUB: Retrofitting of Emission Control Devices/Equipment in DG Sets with Capacity of 125 KVA and above in State of Goa

Dear Member,

Please be informed that a delegation of FHRAI held a meeting with Dr. Prashant Gargava, Director, C.P. Division, MoEF&CC on 24th  November, 2023 at New Delhi on the issue of RECD on DG sets mandated by the Goa State Pollution Control Board. The FHRAI delegation was comprised of Mr. Pradeep Shetty, President, Mr. Chetan Mehta, EC Member, Mr. Garish Oberoi, Past President and Mr. Vinay Albuquerque, EC Member,  HRAWI.

The FHRAI delegation apprised Dr. Gargava in detail about the problems being faced by the hospitality industry in Goa due to the order by the State Pollution Control Board as well as the unviability of the RECDs in a non-polluting state like Goa. FHRAI had also submitted a representation on this subject. A copy of the representation is enclosed for your reference. 

We are very happy to inform you that acceding our request,  Goa State Pollution Control Board issued a revised circular dated 9th  January 2024 and as per this circular, retrofitting is not applicable to the DG Set complying to CPCB 4 plus norms and it is enforced only upon all the Users and the establishments within the jurisdiction of the State of Goa operating DG sets of 125 KVA and above for more than 500 hours/ year.
