Sub:- EPCG Waiver of Annual Average Conditions for Hotels

Dear Member,

Please be informed that the Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI), is taking up with the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) an issue of the waiver/relaxation of Annual average conditions for Hotels under the Chapter 5 of the Foreign Trade Policy ~ Export Promotion Capital Goods Scheme (EPCG), which has affected the fraternity since 2008 onwards resulting in paying duties and interest due to the tremendous decline in Sales on account of Global slowdown and recessionary trend.

EPCG Scheme :-

We, at the Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI), in order to restore the earlier provisions of exempting the Services sector from Maintenance of annual average as per Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) in force up to March 2007, has submitted a representation to the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), last month, soliciting for a waiver.

To support the Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India’s (FHRAI) existing representation, we are seeking Members inputs with regard to the Business Drop, Foreign Exchange, and Occupancy Rate challenges being faced starting from the year 2007.

May we request you to kindly fill-in the Attached form and revert at the earliest by 29th, June 2019, allowing us to take up the matter with the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).
