EON : TT-202/8/2020                                                                     Date : January 29, 2020

To,
The President,
FHRAI, HAI, Indian Heritage Hotels Association

Dear Sir / Madam,

This has reference to letter of even number dated 29.1.2019 addressed to all Trade & Hospitality Associations by the Director General (Tourism), Govt. of India regarding the Novel Coronavirus outbreak and subsequent e-mail requesting all associations and their members to be vigilant about possible suspect cases and bring the same to the notice of the health authorities.

2.         The Ministry of Tourism has received a communication from the Ministry of Health & Welfare (MoH) on the subject conveying that the MoH has already initiated the screening process at seven major airports and self reporting at 12 other airports. Similarly, the Ports have also been sensitized. Nepal has also reported travel related cases and a vigil is being kept in all the districts bordering Nepal.

3.         MoH has further conveyed that these measures to identify a case at the earliest can be further augmented if hotels could also keep a watch on travelers from China/Nepal and report if any travelers from these two countries complain of symptoms of respiratory infection such as fever, cough and/ or difficulty in breathing. In such instances, the hotel is to immediately call up the Control Room of National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Phone No. 011-23978046. The detailed information of the travelers is to be captured in the self-reporting format, copy of which is enclosed.

4.         It is requested that the above information may please be shared with all your member hotels for necessary action as advised.

Yours sincerely,

Meenakshi Mehta
