SUB: FSSAI ORDER REGARDING MANDATORY DECLARATION OF FSSAI LICENSE / REGISTRATION NUMBER ON CASH RECEIPTS / INVOICES / CASH MEMO / BILLS ETC. BY ALL FOOD BUSINESSES ON SALE OF FOOD PRODUCTS

Dear Member,

This is in reference to the FSSAI’s Regulatory Compliance orders No. 15 (31) 2020/FoSCoS/2020/RCD/FSSAI dated 8th June 2022 and 30th September 2021 regarding mandatory declaration of FSSAI License / Registration Number by all Food Business Operators, including Hotels and Restaurants on Bills / Invoices / Cash Memo / Cash Receipts, w.e.f. 01.01.2022.

It is pertinent to mention that FSSAI had made it mandatory to mention the 14-digit License / Registration number on all Bills / Invoices / Cash Memo / Cash Receipts of the Food Business Operators. FSSAI has also taken cognizance of a CCPA letter dated 7th September 2022, that highlights non-compliance of this mandatory requirement by some hotels and restaurants.

In the view of the same, FHRAI would like to advise all the members to kindly make necessary arrangements whereby FSSAI License / Registration number is mentioned / printed on all bills / invoices / cash receipts issued to the consumers.

Order of FSSAI dated 13th September 2022 is enclosed for your reference.
