Subject: Inputs/ Suggestions/ Recommendations Invited – Ministry of Tourism’s Taskforce for Strengthening the Hospitality Industry Ecosystem including revamping the Star Classification for Hotels
Dear Member (s),
Please be informed that under the Chairmanship of the Joint Secretary, Ministry of Tourism a Task Force has been constituted for strengthening the Hospitality Industry Ecosystem including revamping the Star Classification for Hotels. To represent and submit views and challenges of the hospitality fraternity, FHRAI has been taken on board as one of the member organisation in the task force. The Task Force will focus on the following key issues:-
Review of Star Classification System and to make it more transparent, objective, and inclusive
- Review of NIDHI platform and extending the reach by adding more services such as Capacity Building and Skilling, Skill Development initiatives, Grievance redressal and ease of doing business.
- Review of SAATHI platform and extending the reach of SAATHI Certification for COVID-19 SOP’s issued by the Government.
- Survey of Accommodation Units.
- Digitalization of Hospitality Sector encouraging data and information exchange, information architecture and support to small and medium enterprises in adopting digital technologies.
May we request Members to please provide their inputs/ suggestions/ recommendations at the earliest on sg@fhrai.com allowing the Federation to collate and put forward to Ministry the bottlenecks and for preparation of the overall plan to especially make Classification process transparent, efficient, and quality -driven.
