As you all are aware that the Hon’ble Prime Minister has launched “The National Policy on Skill Development and Entrepreneurship 2015” on 15th July, 2015, emphasizes apprenticeship as one of the effective ways to create a pool of skilled workforce in India.

Dear Mr Lall,
The National Policy on Skill Development and Entrepreneurship 2015, launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on 15th July 2015, emphasizes apprenticeship as one of the effective ways to create a pool of skilled workforce in India. The apprenticeship training nurtures and develops a skilled workforce by using training facilities available in the industries/establishments and develop a pool of future employees. This policy focuses on an industry-led, practice-oriented and an efficient mode of formal training to facilitate an increase in apprentices in the country by 2020.
Being an Industry Association, we solicit your support in creating awareness and participation amongst your member establishments for apprenticeship training. We request you to share the attached awareness collaterals, website and YouTube links within your sector. The Government of India, expects your Industry Association to be a role model in apprenticeship training and lead the way for industry in developing skilled workforce.
To support your establishments with apprenticeship training, the government has come forward with:
- Major amendments in Apprentices Act 1961.
- National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS): supports the establishments by sharing the stipend cost of engaging and training apprentices. A dedicated online portal has been developed for the complete apprenticeship training process and monitoring, right from registering the establishment, to engaging apprentices and filing for reimbursements.
- Your Sector Skill Council gets media exposure as a success story through Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship’s (MSDE) communication campaigns.
Your support in this direction would help fulfill a larger national objective by propelling a new wave of opportunities in the nation and helping youth realize their potential to the fullest.
