SUB: FSSAI'S PRESENTATION ON MENU LABELLING AND OTHER INITIATIVES FOR FOOD SERVICE ESTABLISHMENTS
Dear Member,
This is in reference to the 2nd Virtual Meeting of FSSAI held on 18th July, 2022 regarding ‘Implementation of Regulations for Menu Labelling/Display of Information in Food Service Establishments (FSEs).
As requested by the participants during the meeting, a copy of the FSSAI’s presentation in the meeting is enclosed for your kind reference.
The PPT contains some important information with regard to Menu Labelling by Food Service Establishments (FSEs) as the following:
The regulations will be applicable to -:
- FSEs (restaurants, hotels, etc.) having Central License
- State Licensed FBOs with outlets at ten or more locations
- E-Commerce for above FSEs
The mandatory displaying of calorific and nutritional value on menus for FSEs is now applicable with effect from 1st July 2022.
The presentation also contains valid information about other initiatives / policies of FSSAI such as Eat Right India Movement, Food Safety Training & Certification. Hygiene Rating Scheme, Food Safety Display Boards etc.
