Sub:- Recommendations to the Union Budget FY 20-21

Dear Member,

Greetings from FHRAI.

We have begun the process of formulating our recommendations to the Union Budget 2020-2021. We request you for your inputs on the same to enable FHRAI to give recommendations to Government of India with the aim to help our hotel & restaurant members enhance their cash flows & competitiveness. We have also begun strategy workshops on the same and have concluded one with HRAWI EC. 

We are being guided in this exercise by Aashish Gupta, Founder of Strategy PLUTO. Aashish has been handholding Entrepreneurs, Companies & Organisations in helping them develop their vision, strategy and business plans over the past 23 years. He is also the Consulting CEO of FAITH (Federation of Associations in Indian Tourism & Hospitality) which is the National Policy platform of the 10 associations. 

Ministry of Finance, looks to reviewing all recommendations with analysis. If possible please support your recommendations with any brief benefit / numerical analysis that will further help the cause. Please highlight any of your suggestions to the budget, on the parameters mentioned below. 

Please revert to fhrai@fhrai.com with your inputs latest by 6th November 2019, on the following parameters

1.  Direct taxes: Please highlight any recommendations on 
- Income Tax Rate / interpretation / compliance 
- Depreciation 
- Tax holiday / exemption request 

2. Expenditure & Policy
- Any recommended expenditure / policy change for promoting a sub segment of hospitality / restaurants / destination 
- Recommended structural change in a government institution which will have a positive impact on tourism / hospitality / restaurants

GST is no longer part of the Union budget

However feel free to share thoughts on the same. 

3. GST: Please highlight any recommendations on: 
- GST rate / compliance 
- GST exemption request
