Dear Member,

As you are aware, tourism and hospitality is the sector that suffered maximum damage due to the COVID -19 pandemic. However, another aspect which is not being looked into is the career in hospitality as the pandemic has impacted the education system of the country severely, and the Hospitality education, is no exception. The paradigm shift from traditional classroom education to virtual mode is something which is difficult to immediately cope up with for the hospitality industry as well as the students.

In order to highlight the challenges faced by the educationalists in the hospitality sector, students, and the establishments, FHRAI is organising a Webinar on Career in Hospitality #Education: Overcoming the Challenges by Adapting to the New Normal at 3.45 p.m. on September 11th, 2020 to discuss in-detail the repercussions post pandemic. Some of the key issues to be discussed are as follows: -

  • Employment scenario/options of final year students (Hotels, restaurants, entrepreneurship etc.)
  • Employment scenario of students from 2021 onwards
  • Empowering students with COVID-19 protocols
  • Relook at entire curriculum & proactively amending it to include COVID-19 protocols
  • Possible methods of HMCT education in lockdown (Practical & theory)
  • Keeping updated/abreast - authentic sources of information

Shri. Suman Billa, IAS, Director, UNWTO has kindly consented to deliver the Key Note Address at the webinar whereas Shri. Rakesh Kumar Verma, IAS, Joint Secretary Ministry of Tourism, shall join as the Guest of Honour along with Principals of esteemed IHM’s/ Hospitality Professionals as Panellists.

Interaction will be LIVE ON FHRAI FACEBOOK page https://www.facebook.com/fhrai.india.5

We look forward to your attending the Webinar.

With sincere regards,

Gurbaxish Singh Kohli
Vice President
