Subject: Ministry of Tourism Order – Discontinuation of Approval of Hotels at Project Stage
Dear Members,
Please note that the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, has issued an order discontinuing the approval of hotels at the project stage with effect from 16th March 2026.
Key highlights of the Order are as follows:
- No fresh approvals will be granted at the project stage.
- Existing approvals will continue only till their current validity period and shall not be renewed.
- Hotel projects must apply for classification after commencement of operations.
- Pending applications as on 16.03.2026 shall stand closed.
