Subject: Request for Information: ITC Loss Data for GST Representation to the Ministry of Finance and GST Council
Dear Members,
We at the Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Association of India (FHRAI) acknowledges the intent of the GST Council to simplify taxation and stimulate growth. The current reforms of two GST slabs of 5% and 18% are welcome. However, ending Input Tax Credit (ITC) benefits could be detrimental to the hospitality industry, especially for smaller and midscale hotels
FHRAI is planning to highlight the serious concerns of the hospitality industry arising from the recent announcement on revised GST rates through a representation to the Finance Ministry and the GST Council.
Members are therefore requested to share their feedback / queries / concerns stemming from the latest GST announcement, on the following issues, at eatosg@fhrai.com latest by 10th September 2025.
- ITC Loss
- Any Queries arising out of the fresh GST announcement i.e. GST @5% without ITC for room rates of Rs. 7500/- & below.
Your timely support is requested to strengthen our advocacy efforts.
Thank you in anticipation.
With best regards,
Jaison Chacko
Secretary General
