SUB: - MR. PRADEEP SHETTY ELECTED AS NEW PRESIDENT OF FHRAI
Dear Member,
We are delighted to inform you that Mr. Pradeep Shetty has been elected as the President of the Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI) for 2023-24 at the 67th Annual General Meeting of FHRAI held at Hotel Andaz, Aerocity, New Delhi on 28th September 2023. Mr Shetty will take charge of the office from 1st January 2024 and the current President Mr. Sudesh Kumar Poddar will continue till 31st December 2023.
The election of the President and the new team of Office Bearers was held in the first meeting of the new Executive Committee, conducted after the AGM.
Mr Pradeep Shetty is the Director of Maharaja Hotels, Mumbai and was serving as the Vice President of FHRAI in the previous year. Mr Shetty also serves as the President of the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Western India (HRAWI). With his knowledge in corporate law, along with his deep understanding about the legal and regulatory ecosystem for tourism and hospitality business, Mr. Shetty has been instrumental in FHRAI’s legal interventions, for almost a decade. The MRP judgement of the Hon’ble Supreme Court, CCI’s order against the anti-competitive practices of MakeMyTrip and OYO, the famous Cable TV tariff relief against Broadcasters and the Hon’ble Delhi High Court order staying the CCPA guidelines against levying of service charge are some significant achievements of FHRAI which holds strong imprints of Mr. Shetty’s commitment to fight for the benefit of the hospitality industry.
